Residential Counselors- GENERAL INFORMATION (see specific openings below)

Residential (Milieu) Counselors: Full Time, Part Time and Per Diem- General Information.

Our team of milieu counselors foster healthy relationships by helping center the ‘family’ experience in residential living. They are kind, mindful and emotionally equipped to hold space for our residents to continue to grow and heal. These college graduate front line people help residents process a confusing conversation, encourage them to learn a new skill or take on a new responsibility, work with our farm animals, share their unique gifts (such as knitting, cooking, playing games) or sit quietly with our residents to help them settle into their own place and space. We offer full time, part time and per diem positions to support resident population.

  • Educational Background: BA/BS in Psychology or related field preferred. Candidates with an earned two-year degree considered. Must have a minimum of 60 college credits earned.
  • Experience: Two years or more of experience working in a therapeutic field preferred. Prior experience working with girls and/or young adult women desirable.
  • Salary: $20.60 per hour (base hourly rate), plus shift differentials for weekend and overnight hours. Shift differentials can add $2 to $4/hour to the base rate.
  • Full time (30 hrs or more) benefit package includes medical, dental, disability, life insurance, retirement savings with employer match, and generous paid time off.
  • Part time (20-29 hrs.) benefit package includes paid time off and retirement savings with employer match.
  • This position is eligible for overtime compensation.
  • Additional compensation : Holiday differential ($1/hr.) for 7 designated holidays. This differential is applied to: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and October Fall Weekend Monday.
  • Additional compensation: Holiday Pay (1.5 times base rate) for 3 designated holidays. The Holiday Pay is applied to: New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  • Generous Paid Time off package, that increases with years of service for positions with 20 hrs or more.
Health and Physical Education Teacher

IMMEDIATE OPENING
The Arch Bridge School at Wellspring, located in Bethlehem, has a part time opening for a Health and Physical Education teacher for our state approved, and NEASC accredited independent private school.

The Physical Education Teacher for the Arch Bridge School will provide physical education for our school programs covering middle and high school grades. Scheduling for the PE classes is flexible. The part time PE Teacher can provide PE classes during one full day, or over two days. This will be discussed with those selected for interview.

The Arch Bridge School is part of Wellspring, a therapeutic and educational center in the rural, northwest corner of Connecticut (Litchfield County.) The school serves the educational needs of both residential and day students.

The Arch Bridge School offers core academics and college preparatory courses, allowing students to meet their unique academic objectives while in Residential Treatment or as students attending our Therapeutic Day School. Our students tend to be bright, creative and college bound.

Our most successful teachers have an experiential approach to learning and thrive when able to teach in a kind, nurturing environment. We offer an opportunity to teach in small, well-supported classroom settings. Class size tends to be 4-8 students but does not exceed twelve (12) students. We have multiple clinicians on staff to provide immediate support throughout the day. This allows our teachers the chance to provide a creative, challenging, relational classroom where each student is known as an individual. Our teachers are part of a cohesive team that collaborate regularly with each other and our students and are truly able to make a difference in their lives.

Preferred Certifications:
Connecticut Certification, Physical Education, PreK-12 (044).
-Certified by the State of Connecticut to teach physical education… or, be in the process of working toward the certification.

Residential Counselor I

Milieu Counselor I – Full Time or Part Time

Wellspring currently has Milieu Counselor I openings in our residential programs serving adolescent girls. The positions include afternoon and evening shifts and offer the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

  • To support the milieu, in a non-institutional, family modeled setting, with the ability to be personally responsive to the residents in your care.
  • Contribute to and be a part of a community that helps and models healthy living to prepare the residents to meet the realistic demands of returning to their families and their communities.
  • Assist, as a team member to clinical staff, to provide a structured environment with professional supervision of daily activities to counteract the debilitating effects of internal emotional disorders the residents are facing.
  • Follow a program structure that is flexibly responsive to the resident’s needs and abilities while they navigate through their daily therapies, responsibilities and recreational activities.

Overnight Part Time Nurse

LPN’s or RN’s – Residential Behavioral Health setting

Wellspring is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part Time LPN or RN, interested in overnights, to join our team at a residential behavioral health facility located in Bethlehem, CT.

Who we are:

Wellspring and Arch Bridge School aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for young adult women and adolescent girls to overcome mental health and emotional difficulties.

Functions:

  • Promote and maintain a therapeutic environment in a residential setting.
  • Asses, manage and prioritize health problems appropriate to client populations served by Wellspring and in accordance with best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer medication and treatment in accordance with Wellspring Policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Document and communicate accurately any health issues of residents
  • Manager health problems that arise and appropriately administer care for medical and psychiatric orders.
  • Assessing, managing and prioritizing health problems appropriate to client populations
  • Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Two years experience in psychiatric nursing or related experience preferred.
  • Current license in the State of Connecticut.
  • RN or LPN
  • All nurses must maintain current CPR Certification and the requirements for licensure, certification and or registration and or related work experience required or needed to fulfill this requirement.

Schedule (32 hours):

  • Sunday, 7:00pm – 7:00am
  • Monday, 9:30pm – 7:30am
  • Tuesday, 9:30pm – 7:30am

Kitchen Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals for adolescent residents in a safe, supportive residential environment, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards and Department of Public Health regulations. This role ensures that meals meet dietary guidelines, accommodate special needs, and contribute to a positive mealtime experience that supports the health and well-being of residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan menus and prepare all daily meals, serving, lunch, and snacks, and provide guidance to program staff for dinner preparation, all in accordance with nutrition standards and program guidelines.
  • Accommodate special dietary needs, food allergies, and cultural or religious preferences.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen, adhering to all sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor food inventory for frozen, refrigerated and dry stores; order supplies and manage kitchen equipment responsibly, maintaining cost control and adherence to the approved budget.
  • Collaborate with program staff to schedule meals and ensure timely service.
  • Teach basic nutrition and healthy eating habits when appropriate.
  • Follow all policies and procedures to maintain a safe and supportive residential environment.
  • Assist with kitchen-related events or educational activities for residents as needed.
  • Follow dietary guidelines, update the dietary manual in consultation with the nutritionist, and adapt menus to meet the needs of residents.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training preferred.
  • Previous cooking experience in residential, institutional, or nonprofit settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and sanitation practices.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and residents in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.
  • Must possess a current ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification (or equivalent food safety certification).

Working Conditions:

  • Standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks such as lifting and carrying food supplies.
  • Exposure to hot kitchen equipment.
  • Interaction with adolescent residents in a residential therapeutic setting.

  • Patience, empathy, and ability to work effectively with adolescents.
