Residential Counselors- GENERAL INFORMATION (see specific openings below)

Residential (Milieu) Counselors: Full Time, Part Time and Per Diem- General Information.

Our team of milieu counselors foster healthy relationships by helping center the ‘family’ experience in residential living. They are kind, mindful and emotionally equipped to hold space for our residents to continue to grow and heal. These college graduate front line people help residents process a confusing conversation, encourage them to learn a new skill or take on a new responsibility, work with our farm animals, share their unique gifts (such as knitting, cooking, playing games) or sit quietly with our residents to help them settle into their own place and space. We offer full time, part time and per diem positions to support resident population.

  • Educational Background: BA/BS in Psychology or related field preferred. Candidates with an earned two-year degree considered. Must have a minimum of 60 college credits earned.
  • Experience: Two years or more of experience working in a therapeutic field preferred. Prior experience working with girls and/or young adult women desirable.
  • Salary: $20.60 per hour (base hourly rate), plus shift differentials for weekend and overnight hours. Shift differentials can add $2 to $4/hour to the base rate.
  • Full time (30 hrs or more) benefit package includes medical, dental, disability, life insurance, retirement savings with employer match, and generous paid time off.
  • Part time (20-29 hrs.) benefit package includes paid time off and retirement savings with employer match.
  • This position is eligible for overtime compensation.
  • Additional compensation : Holiday differential ($1/hr.) for 7 designated holidays. This differential is applied to: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and October Fall Weekend Monday.
  • Additional compensation: Holiday Pay (1.5 times base rate) for 3 designated holidays. The Holiday Pay is applied to: New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  • Generous Paid Time off package, that increases with years of service for positions with 20 hrs or more.
Overnight Nurse (36 Hours)

Nurses- Residential Behavioral Health setting

Wellspring is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part Time LPN or RN interested in working the overnight shift to join our team at a residential behavioral health facility for adolescents and young adults.

Who we are:

Wellspring and Arch Bridge School aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for young adult women and adolescent girls to overcome mental health and emotional difficulties.

Functions:

  • Promote and maintain a therapeutic environment in a residential setting.
  • Asses, manage and prioritize health problems appropriate to client populations served by Wellspring and in accordance with best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer medication and treatment in accordance with Wellspring Policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Document and communicate accurately any health issues of residents
  • Managed health problems that arise and appropriately administer care for medical and psychiatric orders.
  • Assessing, managing and prioritizing health problems appropriate to client populations
  • Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Two years experience in psychiatric nursing or related experience preferred.
  • Current license in the State of Connecticut.
  • RN or LPN
  • All nurses must maintain current CPR Certification and the requirements for licensure, certification and or registration and or related work experience required or needed to fulfill this requirement.

Physical Education Teacher (Part-Time)

IMMEDIATE OPENING

The Arch Bridge School at Wellspring, located in Bethlehem, has a part time opening for a Part Time Physical Education teacher for our state approved, and NEASC accredited independent private school.

The Physical Education Teacher for the Arch Bridge School will provide physical education for our school programs covering middle and high school grades. Scheduling for the PE classes is flexible. The part time PE Teacher can provide PE classes during one full day, or over two partial days. This will be discussed with those selected for interview.

The Arch Bridge School is part of Wellspring, a therapeutic and educational center in the rural, northwest corner of Connecticut (Litchfield County.) The school serves the educational needs of both residential and day students.

The Arch Bridge School offers core academics and college preparatory courses, allowing students to meet their unique academic objectives while in Residential Treatment or as students attending our Therapeutic Day School. Our students tend to be bright, creative and college bound.

Our most successful teachers have an experiential approach to learning and thrive when able to teach in a kind, nurturing environment. We offer an opportunity to teach in small, well-supported classroom settings. Class size tends to be 4-8 students but does not exceed twelve (12) students. We have multiple clinicians on staff to provide immediate support throughout the day. This allows our teachers the chance to provide a creative, challenging, relational classroom where each student is known as an individual. Our teachers are part of a cohesive team that collaborate regularly with each other and our students and are truly able to make a difference in their lives.

Connecticut Certification, Physical Education, PreK-12 (044) (preferred).

Residential Counselor - Adventure Program

Milieu Counselor I – Adventure / Recreation Program

Are you creative and passionate about planning fun, meaningful activities for others? Do you enjoy making a positive impact in people’s lives?

We’re looking for a part-time Residential Counselor for our Adolescent Girls Program with a special focus on bringing creativity, adventure, and recreation into daily programming. If you love thinking outside the box and creating engaging experiences that inspire and uplift, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate outings and adventure/recreation programming
  • Responsible for transporting residents, primarily to medical appointments
  • To support the milieu, in a non-institutional, family modeled setting, with the ability to be personally responsive to the residents in your care.
  • Contribute to and be a part of a community that helps and models healthy living to prepare the residents to meet the realistic demands of returning to their families and their communities.
  • Assist, as a team member to clinical staff, to provide a structured environment with professional supervision of daily activities to counteract the debilitating effects of internal emotional disorders the residents are facing.
  • Follow a program structure that is flexibly responsive to the resident’s needs and abilities while they navigate through their daily therapies, responsibilities and recreational activities.

Qualifications:

  • Interested in engaging in fun/adventurous activities and outings
  • Comfortable transporting clients
  • Creative, energetic and flexible
  • Earned BA/BS in Psychology or related field (preferred)
  • Experience working in a therapeutic field and/or prior experience working with adolescent girls and/or adult women is desirable

Custodian/Housekeeper

We are looking for a responsible, part time housekeeper/custodian to maintain our facilities. The internal appearance of our small private school and residence reflects on the quality of our service. It is important for a housekeeper/custodian to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in a housekeeper/custodian role focused on interior home/business upkeep. They will have sufficient physical endurance to cover a large space and a keen eye for detail and diligence.

Hours: 7:00am-11:00am, M-F.

The job may include cleaning:

· The Administrative building with 6 bathrooms, a conference room, several office spaces, multiple hallways and staircases.

· A residential house for Adolescent Girls (Beauvais House) with 1 living room, 1 basement recreation area, 1 basement group room & 3 bathrooms (Residents and House Staff clean other rooms such as resident bedrooms and bathrooms, kitchen, etc.).

· Chapel Barn a quaint area where some group therapies take place. Farm animals are housed on the lower level of the barn, creating a unique and calming environment for clients.

Responsibilities

Maintaining a clean, healthy environment by:

  • Taking out trash, tidying furniture and cleaning dusting surfaces
  • Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
  • Wash and sanitize toilets and sinks and restock disposables (e.g. soap, toilet paper, paper towels)
  • Wipe mirrors and windows
  • Report damages and/or repair needs to the Environmental Manager
  • Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.)-can discuss preference further in interview
  • Provide coverage for other housekeeping staff during their personal leave time

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as housekeeper, custodian or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
  • Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness
  • Happy pleasant demeanor and team oriented with the ability to accept constructive feedback
  • Very good physical condition and strength
  • High school diploma is preferred

Human Resources Generalist

Human Resource Generalist

The HR Generalist is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records and administering HR programs including benefits, performance management, and compliance. This role serves as a key resource for employees, providing support on benefits, leave, and workplace concerns while promoting a positive and effective work environment. This position is on site, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resource Records Management

Oversees maintenance of accurate and complete personnel records to be compliant with all legal and accreditation standards. Ensures that storage and use is complaint with legislative requirements concerning confidentiality and retention. Handles all requests for personnel records in an accurate and timely way.

Staff Performance Review

Maintains staff performance review records and ensures that reviews are completed by all managers in a timely manner.

Employee Relations

Promotes human resource programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace. Gathers and analyzes data with useful HR metrics like turnover rates and time to hire.

Benefit Administration

Works with management to provide support to employees in various human resource-related topics such as leaves, benefits, and compensation and helps resolve any issues as they arise.

Ambassadorship

Ensures the HR department is a resource to all staff and potential candidates in a positive way. Determines and recommends employee relation practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Oversees the workplace injury reporting and documentation process.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including compensation, benefits and leave, disputes and investigations and performance management.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, referring complex or sensitive matters to the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Works with Chief Operating Officer and HR Generalist in implementation, administration and monitoring of Wellspring’ training program(s) to ensure employees are trained to meet all licensing requirements, laws and accreditation standards.
  • May attend and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations with the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Provides back up to HR Generalist and Chief Operating Officer during personal leave.
  • Works with program leaders and management on suggestions of employee relations practices to establish a positive work environment.
  • Able to read and interpret documents. Must be able to write clear, accurate and logical documents, reports and correspondence. Must be able to speak effectively before groups of individuals, including employees of organization.
  • Maintains confidentiality as it relates to all aspects of employee/student/client/resident information.
  • Reports to work on time and works assigned hours.
  • Completes all assignments, paperwork, and reports in a responsible and timely manner.
  • Is consistent in daily work relationships. Demonstrates initiative and stable mood. Is supportive of others, willing to share information, and collaborates as a team player
  • Promotes and maintains a therapeutic environment.
  • Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Communicates the mission, vision and values of Wellspring and the Arch Bridge School with care and consistency.

Qualifications & Regulatory Requirements:

  • Academic preparation/degree consistent with Human Resources work and understanding of the programs and services provided by Wellspring.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Human Resource role
  • Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred
  • SHRM Certification preferred
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a team player, adaptable, flexible, and detail oriented, with superior time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.

Direct Care Residential (Milieu) Counselor III for Adult Residential Program

We are looking for a Milieu Counselor III to support residents, and supervise our small staff of Milieu Counselors.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to model the development and maintenance of relationships of healthy mutuality with clients.
  • Able to receive supervision regarding dynamics, special needs, and developmental issues and share (teach) this knowledge with staff.
  • Able to provide supervision to all Milieu Counselors regarding the development of rapport and maintenance of professional relationships with clients, other family members, outside professionals, and other staff.
  • Able to observe and interpret client’s patterns of behaviors and relationship with others to assist the team to develop strategies that assist clients to achieve the goals and objectives of their Treatment Plans.
  • Ability to participate in Wellspring’s intimate, intensive, and expressive programs; ability to work therapeutically with assigned age group.
  • Orients new residents to the culture and methods of treatment at Wellspring.
  • Responsible for orientation and training of Milieu Counselors in the principles, values, and methods basic to Wellspring’s treatment approach and program structures.
  • Demonstrates ability to activate residents into positive social interactions. Supports and teaches empowerment of residents through active responsibility within the Wellspring therapeutic community system.
  • Helps develop trust in adults through a process of dialogue between residents and staff. Teaches problem solving, and how residents can direct wants, needs, and feelings in a positive way to effect change.
  • Arranges schedule to be present at Wellspring to provide flexible availability for different staff shifts, and the training needs of per diem and weekend staff, and the orientation needs of new residents.
