Residential Counselors

Residential (Milieu) Counselors: Full & Part Time Positions and Per Diem

Our team of milieu counselors foster healthy relationships by helping center the ‘family’ experience in residential living. They are kind, mindful and emotionally equipped to hold space for our residents to continue to grow and heal. These college graduate front line people help residents process a confusing conversation, encourage them to learn a new skill or take on a new responsibility, work with our farm animals, share their unique gifts (such as knitting, cooking, playing games) or sit quietly with our residents to help them settle into their own place and space. We offer full time, part time and per diem positions to support resident population.

  • Educational Background: BA/BS in Psychology or related field preferred. Candidates with an earned two-year degree considered. Must have a minimum of 60 college credits earned.
  • Experience: Two years or more of experience working in a therapeutic field preferred. Prior experience working with girls and/or young adult women desirable.
  • COVID Protocols: We are interviewing candidates who are either fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, in the process of completing the vaccination process, or who will commit to getting vaccinated if hired. Wellspring is dedicated to keeping our staff and residents safe through the COVID-19 pandemic. We practice social distancing; we follow all of the CDC recommendations for a residential setting.
    Salary: $16.00 per hour (base hourly rate), plus shift differentials for weekend and overnight hours. Shift differentials can add $1 to $2/hour to the base rate.
  • Part time benefit package includes paid time off.
  • This position is eligible for overtime compensation.
Nurses - Per Diem Positions

We are seeking LPNs or RNs for per diem coverage. We are now interviewing and hiring per diem nurses for all shifts primarily to help provide coverage for call outs and scheduled leave of current staff. Ability to provide some overnight/3rd shift coverage will be helpful.

Coverage needed in our residential programs for adolescent girls. Some of the presenting diagnoses are: attachment disorder, eating disorders, substance abuse, depression, borderline personality disorder, and

  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorder: LPN or RN required.
  • Experience with residential programs: helpful but not required.
  • Salary: Competitive. Shift differentials for overnight and weekend shifts are paid in addition to hourly rate.

Job description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support the CFO
  • Maintain general ledger and all supporting schedules accurately and timely by daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly posting and reconciliation.
  • Conduct month end and year-end closing procedures accurately and timely including producing all required financial reporting.
  • Possess knowledge of GAAP and accrual-base accounting methods to ensure accurate general ledger and reporting balances.
  • Prepare all necessary reports, schedules, back up for year-end external audit.
  • Understands and able to work in and trouble shoot Wellspring’s designated accounting systems

Job Tasks

  • Prepare and post all recurring and adjusting journal entries related to all accounts accurately and timely.
  • Conduct analytical research to determine that all balances are accurate in the general ledger and on reports created.
  • Assist with annual budget process as necessary.
  • Reconcile monthly all bank accounts accurately and timely.
  • Prepare all required schedules for external auditors prior to audit engagement date. Participate in the year-end audit process by assisting or supplying any requested documentation during their on-site visit.
  • Review and post all fund raising revenues and reconcile amounts and noted purpose with the fund raising department. Ensure amount is deposited in the correct bank account.
  • Process all revenues received from receptionist (outpatient co-pay
  • collections and checks through mail) and deposit into appropriate bank account.
  • Ensure Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll is using accurate general ledger account numbers to ensure accurate balances are being maintained in general ledger.
  • Serve as back up to accounts receivable function as needed.

  • Work collaboratively as a member of the Finance Team. Will provide guidance and leadership for the department and its functions in CFO absence.
  • Actively participate in supervision and seeks guidance from supervisor.
  • Performs duties as assigned by supervisor or executive management.
  • Have a good understanding of the programs and services provided by Wellspring.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit in front of a computer for long periods of time. The employee will be required to do keyboard and telephone activities. They will need to stand, walk, bend, sit, reaching with hands and arms, and climb stairs.

Qualifications & Regulatory Requirements

Have a Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Admin (preferred, not required)
Have academic preparation/degree consistent with need of position. (required)
Minimum of 3 yrs. of relevant experience required. Experience with Great Plains Software is a plus
