Mental Health Counseling

Changing levels of care doesn’t have to mean losing relationships or the gains achieved through them. Wellspring offers the option to continue mental health services as an outpatient for children, adolescents, adults and families who have successfully engaged in our residential treatment.

Our talented, well-trained mental health professionals and family therapists help address ongoing and changing emotional and psychological issues like anxiety, depression, mood disorders, stress and adjustment issues, interpersonal relationships, school problems, attachment difficulties, grief, trauma, and loss.

We help individuals get back to the wellspring of their being—their unique giftedness and personality—and maintain accomplishments achieved.

Wellspring accepts various in- and out-of-network insurance coverage and self-pay for outpatient continuation of care. To schedule an initial evaluation please contact us at 203-266-8000.

Bringing Families Together

Long Distance Family Program

New England’s premier residential treatment program guides and teaches families to become a part of the healing process. Our long distance family program is designed to deepen family relationships and provide a wonderful way for families to share in the Wellspring experience with their child.

Even when a family lives too far from campus to make in-person weekly visits, we still collaborate to include them in their child’s treatment. At minimum, once a week, families attend family sessions with their therapist, and once a month families meet with their child’s program director or therapist. These meetings take place online, but we always encourage in-person visits when possible.

Family Intensive Weekends

In addition to weekly sessions and monthly check-ins, families join us for Family Intensive Weekends that take place throughout the year. These weekends deepen family relationships and provide a wonderful way for families to interact with their child.

In addition to therapy sessions and training sessions, families participate in programs by the staff who has been working with their child. Depending on the time of year, families might play trust-building games on the quad, take a walk along the Wellspring creek, meet and groom our goats, or explore the many hidden treasures in our local area. Wellspring is just a one- or two-hour car ride from several airports in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey, and we provide families with a list of local outings and hotels.

At Wellspring we help people find themselves again.
