Residential Treatment for Adolescent Girls

We offer individualized residential treatment in a home-like atmosphere for adolescent girls struggling with relational, emotional, educational, and mental health challenges.

Those who come to our residential program are generally above average, creative individuals with a complex symptom profile who have willingness to engage in treatment and desire to work towards meaningful, lasting change.

Residents in our programs often experience a range of emotional, relational, and mental health challenges including, but not limited to, mood disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, trauma and/or attachment difficulties, anxiety disorders, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or substance abuse disorders in partial remission.

People often come to Wellspring from home, school districts, short-term residential programs, wilderness programs, hospital stays, or long-term outpatient/partial hospital programs. Our typical length of stay is 3-18 months.

Relational Treatment in a Home-Like Setting

At Wellspring, healing happens through relationships. Our relationally-based treatment combines a structured, nurturing environment with meaningful connections among residents, clinicians, teachers, staff, peers, and family members. These everyday interactions become opportunities for growth, self-discovery, and change. Coupled with modern, evidence-based therapeutic skills and deeper psychodynamic work, real transformation is possible.

Within the safety of our therapeutic community, residents can explore patterns in how they relate to themselves and others, including family members, peers, and authority figures. The challenges that brought them to treatment often emerge naturally in residential life and within the school setting, creating valuable opportunities for insight and action.

With the guidance of experienced and compassionate professionals, residents learn to identify and challenge unhealthy beliefs, develop more effective coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and build the skills necessary for long-term emotional well-being and resilience.

Wellspring helped me let go of built-up anger I had in myself, something I have struggled with most of my life. To finally have those negative parts of me released is like having a big weight lifted off of my shoulders.

Family partnership

At Wellspring, families are an essential part of the healing process. We partner closely with parents and guardians, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for meaningful involvement throughout treatment.

Family therapy—including individual family sessions, multi-family groups, and parent support groups—is a cornerstone of our program and is integrated with individual therapy, group therapy, experiential therapies, and the therapeutic community to support lasting growth and connection. Family therapy can occur in-person, online, or both.

Deep Healing in a Private School Setting

Our clinical program integrates treatment and a therapeutic private school environment by interweaving therapy with college preparatory academics.

Wellspring’s on-campus Arch Bridge School has received multiple commendations from the State Department of Education including praise as a comfortable, safe environment with a positive teacher-student rapport, college preparatory academics, and an atmosphere of mutual respect.

The resident student’s performance within the school, both academically and behaviorally, is an important measure of readiness to return home. As part of our transition and discharge process, recommendations are made to support appropriate placement to assure continued success educationally whether in the home district or college.

Students generally return to their home school districts, private schools, or move onto college placement after Wellspring.

The Campus

Wellspring’s main campus for 13-18 year olds is set on fifteen acres and has two cozy residential homes tucked in among established perennial gardens, pastures, a gym and family center, a quiet sanctuary for reflective thought, and a barn housing our animal program with goats, sheep, chickens, and bunnies.

Residents walk to their classes at Arch Bridge School and the Dodds Center for Arts and Athletics. As part of their treatment plan, residents have many opportunities to engage in nature through our land-based therapies, which include animal program, adventure program, work, and gardening program. Throughout the campus, there is a deeply-rooted culture of safety and trust.
