The Arch Bridge School (ABS) at Wellspring is a State Approved Special Education School serving children in grades 1 -12. The Arch Bridge School has earned multiple commendations from the State of Connecticut Department of Education. The school offers core academics and college preparatory courses, allowing students to meet their unique academic objectives while in Residential Treatment or in our Therapeutic Day School. The Arch Bridge School has a long history of success in serving children with emotional, psychological and learning vulnerabilities and issues. Arch Bridge School staff stays in close relationship with the local schools and partners with parents to facilitate each students transfer back to their communities and local schools.
Core academics are taught in small groups by certified teachers, and supported by mental health and behavioral specialists.

- Activities: Art, Land and Animal Program, Physical Education, Study Skills
- Character Building Group focused on: Goal Setting, Drug Awareness, Anger Management, Socialization, Problem Solving and Stress Reduction
- Bi-Weekly Parent Support Group
- Summer School available to ABS students and students from local schools
Emphasis is placed on providing a positive learning experience, resolving school related issues, and preparing the student to return to his or her home school better able to function successfully. The therapeutic dimension of the program offers a comprehensive exploration of the student’s individual uniqueness while developing self-reliance, problem solving skills, socialization, and the ability to manage anger and stress. The fundamental approach of the school is to develop a personal relationship with each student and family, within a clearly defined structure of expectations and consequences. Parental involvement is an essential component of the program. Parent Support Groups provide instruction and guidance to enhance parenting skills and offer an opportunity to share information and experience with others.
This program accepts day students and residential students referred by school districts. The program also provides services to residential students who have been placed by public agencies for other than educational reasons.

The Arch Bridge School at Wellspring is a member of the Connecticut Association of Private Special Education Facilities (CAPSEF), and is approved by the Connecticut Department of Education as a nonpublic special education program.
