Dan Murray, Psy.D., Chief Executive Officer

Dan joined Wellspring in 1991, and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer. In this role, he is responsible for clinical and educational programs and services at Wellspring. He also provides Presentations, Parent Trainings & School Consultations on handling social and emotional issues and raising resilient children by building and restoring relationships.

Dan has held a variety of positions in his tenure at Wellspring, most recently as Chief of Professional Services. As a Program Director he developed the residential children’s program (Shiloah) at Wellspring, including the clinical dimensions of the Elementary School Program. He also served as Clinical Supervisor of The Arch Bridge School and Wellspring’s former adolescent boys program.

Prior to joining Wellspring, Dan worked for Connecticut Valley Hospital, Hamden Mental Health Services, and Elmcrest Psychiatric Institute as part of their patient treatment teams. He also served as School Psychological Examiner for Salisbury Summer School, and brings a combined total of 27 years of experience in the mental health field.

He earned his BA in Psychology from Lycoming College, and graduated with honors from the University of New Haven with an MA in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Dan also obtained an MA in Clinical Practices and his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford. In his spare time, Dan enjoys the outdoors, spending time with family and can often be found participating in the work programs across our campuses.
